OUR STORY

For seven generations, the Fahner family owned and operated the Fahner Metzgerei in the small town of Burgwindheim near Germany's Steigerwald region.  In 1929, George Fahner brought his family and his expert knowledge of butchering to the United States.  In America, George extended the line of master butchers by passing down his knowledge to his sons, Theodore and Andrew.   By the 1960s, George's sons opened Karl Ehmer of Patchogue in order to provide Long Island with the European specialties and old world quality they loved.

Today, the tradition continues with Andrew's son Steven.  Trained in the same style as his father and grandfather, Steven is dedicated to the legacy of his family. Please visit Steven at Karl Ehmer of Patchogue, and enjoy the same quality his family has enjoyed for generations!
